Closed Tray Impression

Select the appropriate impression coping by matching the implant size and the profile of the healing abutment the surgeon placed at second stage surgery (the surgeon should provide this information, manufacturer’s color code implants and all corresponding parts).

Remove the healing abutment with the appropriate hand driver.

Place the impression coping into the implant, line up the hex and hand tighten. Take a radiograph to ensure the impression coping is completely seated.

Inject impression material around the impression coping, load and seat the closed top impression tray and allow impression to set per the manufacturer’s instructions.

Remove the impression from the mouth, the impression coping will remain on the implant. Check the impression for accuracy. If voids or pulls are present, remake impression.

Remove the impression coping from the implant using the hand driver and immediately replace the healing abutment.

Make an impression of the opposing arch; take a shade and a bite registration. Pictures are very helpful!

Send impressions, bite registration, impression coping and a prescription to the laboratory, If multiple implants are present, please package impression copings individually with tooth numbers!

Delivering restoration:

Upon completion, you will receive a finished abutment attached to the analog in master model with the final screw and the definitive restoration (Biomet 3i a try-in screw is used and the gold final screw will be included with the case).

Remove the abutment from the analog using the hand driver.

Remove the healing abutment from the implant using the hand driver, seat the abutment into the implant line up the hex and hand tighten using the driver (the facial will be marked). Take a radiograph to ensure proper seating.

Seat crown on the abutment and check interproximal and occlusal contacts areas. Remove crown and torque the final screw to the manufacturer recommended Ncm. Cement crown using implant cement.
